IETE : The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India’s leading recognised professional society devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT. founded in 1953. The IETE is the National Apex Professional body of Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science and IT Professionals. It serves more than 1,25,000 members (including Corporate, Student and ISF members) through various 64 Centres, spread all over India and abroad. The Institution provides leadership in Scientific and Technical areas of direct importance to the national development and economy. Government of India has recognised IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and also notified as an educational Institution of national eminence. The objectives of IETE focus on advancing electro-technology. The IETE conducts and sponsors technical meetings, conferences, symposia, and exhibitions all over India, publishes technical journals and provides continuing education as well as career advancement opportunities to its members.

The IETE focuses on advancement of the Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication, Computers, Information Technology and related areas. Towards this end the Institution promotes and conducts basic engineering and continuing technical education programmes for human resource development.

The IETE conducts both the Graduateship (AMIETE) Examination in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology streams and Diploma (DIPIETE) Examination in Electronics & Telecommunication and Computer Science & Engineering streams. A pass in AMIETE Examination is recognised by Government of India for the purposes of recruitment to superior posts and services under the Central Government while a pass in Diploma Level (DIPIETE) Examination is recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India for the purpose of employment to posts & services under the Central Government in the appropriate field.

The IETE also conducts postgraduate level course ALCCS (Advanced Level Course in Computer Science) which is also recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, as equivalent to M. Tech in Computer Science for the appointment to superior posts & services under the Central Government.

IETE Inaugural Report

IETE Inaugural of Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers Student’s Forum
Saturday, 29th April 2017
The Electronics and Telecommunication Department of Don Bosco College of Engineering organized the InaugUral of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, students forum on Saturday, 29th April 2017.The inaugural began at 10.30am with the lighting of the lamp. Miss Shreya Usgaonkar compered the event.
Mr. Sachin Talwadkar, Associate consultant at TCS, was the chief guest of the function. Dr. H.G Virani, Head of Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Department of Goa College of Engineering. the chairman of IETE Goa Sub Centre, also attended the inaugural function.. Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director; Mrs. Neena Panadikar , Principal; Mrs. Michelle Viegas, HOD of ETC Department; Mrs. Samantha Cardoso and Mr. Vishnu Rathod IETE coordinators were the other dignitaries present at the dais.
The inaugural was then followed by the introductions of Mr. Sachin Talwadkar and Mr. H.G Virani by Miss Rakashata Naik and Mr. Rohit Sardesai respectively .
Director Fr. Kinley inspired students to follow their passion and to work hard and aim at gaining knowledge through these forums.
Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar congratulated the students and encouraged them to take full advantage of the benefits provided by the association.
Dr. H.G Virani, the chairman of IETE, Goa Subcentre briefed students on the various benefits that IETE provides and the various facilities available to students.
Chief guest Mr. Sachin Talwadkar , urged students to get exposed to different cultures and learn from them to serve society in a better way.
Soon after there was a small refreshment break followed by a session by Mr. Sachin Talwadkar, on “An Introduction to Manufacturing Industry”.
